Schedule of Events
Friday Evening
The Hebrew calendar is a lunar calendar, meaning it is based off of the moon cycles, thus all "days" begin at night. With Saturday being our Sabbath (Shabbat), it technically begins Friday night. We will be attending services on Friday evening at 6:30, but Shayna will not be participating much in this service, so please do not feel obligated to attend. This service is very laid back and contains a lot of singing. This service will take place ONLY on Zoom. This is the link to the service Friday Night Service. The following links are for the song sheet and prayer book.

Saturday Morning

Saturday morning's service begins at 10. Saturday morning's service will take place in person at Temple Emanuel as well as virtually on Zoom by following this link Shayna's Bat Mitzvah Service additionally, the prayerbook can be viewed here Prayer Book
Please feel free to arrive between 10:30 and 10:45. This is when most of the congregation arrives and it will assure that you are there for the most important parts of the ceremony. For more information, please click on the What is a Bat Mitzvah page.
Because of the unique situation that we are in and know that the majority of people will be participating via Zoom, we thought that it might be fun to add some festivity to your home and show Shayna that you are with her in spirit. Shayna's favorite colors are purple and Teal (hence the colors of the website). If you wanted to surprise her by decorating the room you are watching from in those colors, she will think that it is cool! Also, if you wanted to wear your favorite tie dye and wear the kippah that was included with your invitation (that she made) we think it will help her to feel as if you are here with us.
Following the service there will NOT be a Shabbat Kiddush (luncheon) at the Temple. Please remember that cellphones should not be used inside the Temple on Shabbat.
Saturday Night
Typically Saturday night we would be hosting a party. Unfortunately, that will not be taking place this year.
